    PRODUCT:

    MainView Batch Optimizer - Standard

    COMPONENT:

    MainView Batch Optimizer

    APPLIES TO:

MainView Batch Optimizer Job Optimizer component SUBZERO Interface

    PROBLEM:

Job steps executed within a batch job defined in the Job Optimizer Job Policy JOBPOL00 member with an ACTION of DIRECT to use the SUBZERO interface were incorrectly executed on the HOME submitting system instead of the TARGET system.

    CAUSE:

    TARGET System not available.

    SOLUTION:

To ensure a batch job step executing a program defined to be DIRECTED to a TARGET system using the SUBZERO Interface the Job Optimizer SUBZERO MODE parameter must be set to FAIL; as illustrated below.

Enter MainView Batch Optimizer product command below using a System console or TSO LOGON using SDSF or equivalent software:

    Job Optimizer SUBZERO Interface command:

    bcssid BSL SUBZERO ENABLE FAIL

NOTE: bcssid = MainView Batch Optimizer Subsystem ID. MBOS is the default Subsystem ID.

After entering the above command; the message below will be displayed within the System SYSLOG and the MainView Batch Optimizer Subsystem job log. The default Subsystem started task member name is MBOBCSS.

BMC173463I Subzero Exit is Enabled  at 40E9B000 Mode(Fail)

FAIL issues an informational message explaining why the step failed to split.

    FIGURE 1:

If the batch job can not be executed on the TARGET system; the batch job will receive a Job Optimizer U2400 ABEND.  If TARGET system is not available; the Job Optimizer message below is issued within the batch job output listing:
