    QUESTION:

When a customer sends BMC dumps and other diagnostic information as part of support case how does BMC protect that data?

    ANSWER:

If the customer utilizes SFT (mft.bmc.com) to send the data to BMC via FTP, it is using a secured connection.  From there, BMC utilizes the same type of secure connection to upload to the BMC mainframe where the dataset will reside.  The dataset can only be accessed by BMC employees who have been given mainframe credentials.  This data is never shared with any other party.  If an issue needs to be opened with IBM, we ask that the customer send the dump to IBM, BMC does not share it.
