Not able to save changes in the Remedy AR System Mid Tier config tool

    PROBLEM:

    Getting error "Failed to save changes" while trying to save any change in the AR System Midtier config tool.
    We noticed an "Access denied" error on the config.properties file in the midtier logs. 


    CAUSE:

    Tomcat was started with a default local service account instead of a local system account, this was causing permissions problems in the midtier folder


    SOLUTION:

    Open services, click on properties for the tomcat service and on the "Log On" tab make sure the Local System Account is selected.

    You will need to restart tomcat so this changes takes effect.
