    PROBLEM:

How do I hide or change Tomcat’s default home page?

    SOLUTION:

Below are steps to Hide/Change default Tomcat  home page

    • Stop the Tomcat Service
    •
    • Go to the Tomcat directory on the server
    •
    • Go to /Webapps folder
    •
    • Open the ROOT folder
    •
    • Rename or remove index.jsp, Now if you start the Tomcat and browse http://<ServerName>/<TomcatPort>/, It will display 404 error instead of Tomcat home page
    •
    • Or you can add your custom home page file with the name index.html in the same directory as index.jsp.  Now if you browse http://<ServerName>/<TomcatPort>/, It will display the content of your custom index file
