    QUESTION:

How to Undo a Patch Deploy Job in TrueSight Server Automation (TSSA/BSA)?

    ANSWER:

TrueSight Server Automation supports undo when you are deploying Windows, AIX or Solaris patches. Undo is not supported for patch deploy for any other operating system.

Please refer to the following BMC documentation link for full details:

    https://docs.bmc.com/docs/display/tssa89/Undo+a+Patch+Deploy+Job

For Windows Servers - Undo/rollback is also allowed for patches which were installed without using TSSA. Please refer to the following knowledge article for full details:

    https://communities.bmc.com/docs/DOC-101045

For Solaris Patch Rollbacks, we aware of the following caveats:

KA 000051391 BSA: Solaris Deploy UNDO Job error: The following patches cannot be removed since they were installed without creating their backout data.

KA 000087632 BSA: Solaris Deploy UNDO Job error: Patchrm cannot be used until this system is rebooted.
