    QUESTION:

Cannot see some of the Guest OS Diagnostics metrics listed in the documentation when we run the TSCO Azure ETL, for example: CPU_UTIL_GUEST, CPU_UTIL_SYSTEM, CPU_UTIL_USER and all the metrics like *_GUEST are not imported.

When changed the setting from 3-Standard to 4-Extended in the "Collection level" configuration nothing happens. The final metrics that are imported are always 30:

-We created a new Ubuntu Server 16.04-LTS VM with Guest OS Diagnostics enabled. We see all the 40 performance metrics
-We have a Windows 2016 Datacenter with Containers with Guest OS Diagnostics enabled and we see only 19 performance metrics

    ANSWER:

In order to collect guest level monitoring metrics for Windows VM's & Linux VM's guest level monitoring needs to be enabled for the guest virtual machines. This option is disabled by default. Refer to the TSCO documentation for the Azure ETL page for details how to enable guest level monitoring Azure virtual machines:
