    PRODUCT:

    BMC Atrium Core - CMDB

    COMPONENT:

    BMC Atrium Core

    APPLIES TO:

    Atrium Core 9.1.x

    PROBLEM:

    Database Lookup step in Atrium Spoon is not working with the error as "ORA-28040: No matching authentication protocol"

    SOLUTION:

     (a) SQLNET

    Verify that the below parameter is set to value 8 in sqlnet.ora file on Oracle server

    SQLNET.ALLOWED_LOGON_VERSION_SERVER =8

    We need assistance of DBA in setting this parameter

    (b) JDBC driver

    Verify that 'orai18n.jar' is the only jdbc file available in 'ARSystem\diserver\data-integration\libext' folder

    If that is the case, we may try with ojdbc6 and ojdbc7 file individually to see if there is a jdbc file issue

    If you are including a new jdbc file, you may also have to make a change in AR server's pluginsvr_config.xml file to reflect the proper value of the jdbc driver file. This is for plugin 'ARSYS.ARDBC.PENTAHO'

    <pathelement type="location">C:/Program Files/BMC Software/ARSystem/diserver/data-integration/libext/JDBC/ojdbc14.jar</pathelement>

    You need to point to the proper file name
