After successful Footprints install or upgrade. It is giving 404 Error after launching Footprints URL

    QUESTION:

    After successful Footprints install or upgrade. It is giving 404 Error after launching Footprints URL

    Note: There could be multiple reason for 404 error message and have different solutions as per logs error message. One of the solution is as follows if you are getting this error.

    log4j:ERROR setFile(null,true) call failed.
    java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\Program Files\BMC Software\FootPrints\logs\migration-import.log (Access is denied

    log4j:ERROR setFile(null,true) call failed.
    java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\Program Files\BMC Software\FootPrints\logs\http-requests.log (Access is denied)


    ANSWER:

    1. Stop Tomcat

    2. Make sure Tomcat is running with highest privileges which is Local System account. If not please select the radio button as "Local System Account"

    3. Start Tomcat , it will fix this issue.
