    QUESTION:

How to start the Synthetic TEA Agent as a Windows process without having an active desktop session?

    ANSWER:

The AuoLogon application is the only suggested option at this time, but other similar programs can be used that provide the same functionality as the AutoLogon application.  See BMC KA number 000105589 located at the following link for more information and other suggestions:

There is no other workaround to starting the Synthetic TEA Agent as a Windows process without an active desktop session.  As a note, the Synthetic TEA Agent cannot be started via Windows Scheduled Task because it does not have all the privileges that is needed. The Synthetic TEA Agent must be started as a Windows process.

FAQ: A common problem with Autologon is putting the shortcut to start_agent.bat in the wrong place. It must go into a Startup directory and that Startup directory must be the Startup directory of the user name that Autologon is configured for.  Most Windows computer have more than one Startup directory so please make a note of this.
