    QUESTION:

ULTRAOPT - BMC13549E ABEND S0D3  OCCURRED DURING REQUEST PROCESSING

    ANSWER:

This is due to a timing issue.

    Workarounds are:
    1. Make sure MFAS is started and initialized  BEFORE ...  ULTRAOPT is started so there should not be an yissues related to S0D3.
The S0D3 is really in the MFAS address space - but because there is a VTAM interface (issues an OPEN ACB) ULTRAOPT is involved.  MFAS is probably being started with REUSASID=YES and that is what is causing the S0D3.   It doesn't matter that the MFAS ACB/APPLID is not being intercepted by ULTRAOPT.

    2. Do /S MFAS,REUSASID=NO  or /S MFAS   WITHOUT the REUSASID=YES parameter. It is the APPLICATIONS being started with REUSASID=YES that causes the S0D3 problems.
