    COMPONENT:

    BMC Synthetic Transaction Execution Adapter

    APPLIES TO:

BMC Synthetic Transaction Execution Adapter (TEA) agent - all versions TrueSight Presentation Server (TSPS) - all versions

    PROBLEM:

When trying to delete a Synthetic script (.ltz) from the TSPS console, it shows “Success”, but the script was still present.  The Synthetic script was a custom script uploaded into the TSPS console.

Note: Synthetic scripts that came with the product cannot be deleted.

    SOLUTION:

Below are steps to resolve this problem:

Step 1) From the TSPS console, upload a test Synthetic script (.ltz)

Step 2) Log into the App Visibility Portal console and click the Managed Configuration link

Step 3) Look for the test Synthetic script (.ltz) from Step 1.  Click on the script and copy the “Created by” user account.

Note: This “Created by” user account is the same value as in the “Uploaded By” field within TSPS console when looking at the Synthetic scripts.

Step 4) In the same Managed Configuration link from the App Visibility Portal, click on the Synthetic script that could not be deleted originally.  Look for the “Created by” user account and replace the value with the “Created by” user account from Step 3.  Save the file.

Step 5) Restart the App Visibility Portal

Step 6) From the TSPS console, delete the original Synthetic script that could not be deleted.  It should be deleted successfully.

Step 7) Perform the above procedure for any other Synthetic scripts that could not be deleted
