Failed to create a  Control-M for Cloud Connection Profile with error "CLOUD9001 = Failed to access the WSDL at: https://<Hostname>:<Port Number>/services/LoginService?wsdl. java.security.cert.CertificateException: No subject alternative names present."

    PROBLEM:

     

    - While creating a Control-M for Cloud conenction profile on Control-M Configuration Manager, it fails with the following error:
     Control-M for Cloud: CLOUD9001 = Failed to access the WSDL at: https://<Hostname or IP Address>:<Port Number>/services/LoginService?wsdl. java.security.cert.CertificateException: No subject alternative names present.
     

     


    CAUSE:

    The URL connected to is different from the hostname(s) that are valid according to the SSL certificate used.


    SOLUTION:

    - This error indicate that the URL connected to is different from the hostname(s) that are valid according to the SSL certificate used.
      For example, the certificate has been created for www.example.com, but the URL accessed is another hostname or with the IP Address instead of the hostname
    - Make sure the certificate is really generated for the correct server that is running from.
    - Make sure to use the correct hostname that is used to generate the certificate to connect to the server.
