Why Connection count attribute is not visible in Mainframe queue manager
Below are few information regarding on Connection Count Parameter for z/OS queue manager
Queue manager’s ConnectionCount (MQ attribute name CONNS) is determined from the queue manager status information (DISPLAY QMSTATUS). However, DISPLAY QMSTATUS is not available on z/OS and like that the MQ attribute CONNS is neither.
Also From the IBM MQ 9.1, DISPLAY QMSTATUS is only supported on “Multiplatforms”. This does not include z/OS.
Even if the user add history template for the QM and it has connection count attribute enabled. The attribute exists as a queue manager attribute, but only on distributed systems. There is no difference between z/OS queue managers and queue managers on distributed systems. Same history templates, same views, etc. However, if an attribute does not get updated (because it does not exist on a particular queue manager), then there user will not see any values for it, Same applies to queues, etc.
The user can refer the IBM MQ 9.1 link below which states DISPLAY QMSTATUS is only supported on “Multiplatforms”. This does not include z/OS.
However this functionality never worked and will not work until IBM supports the DISPLAY QMSTATUS command on z/OS.
