In TrueSight Capacity Optimization what is the process to add a custom metric if there isn't already a metric available in an existing Dataset that matches the definition of data I want to import via an ETL ?

In TSCO is possible create a new custom metric. Please refer to official documenation of your version in order to find the step to do in the the Console.

Before adding a new metric, it would be best to perform a Match and gap process to be sure that there isn't already a predefined metric within the product that matches the definition of the new metric to be imported.  The goal is to not create a new custom metric where there is already an existing metric in TSCO that would be suitable.

    Additional information:

    1. A complete list of available metrics is available in TSCO Console under Administration >DATA WAREHOUSE > Datasets & Metrics
    3. If you want to import a metric which does not exist in above list than you create your custom metric by clicking on Add Metric button.
    5. While creating a custom metric the new metric, Resname must include only uppercase letters, underscore character and must end with the _C suffix.
    7. Once added, the new custom metric will be visible as reported in first point of this list
