When upgrading a Control-M/Agent using Agent deployment, the deployment process fails with the message "Timed out waiting for upgrade completion."

    PROBLEM:

    When upgrading a Control-M/Agent using Agent deployment, the deployment process fails with the message "Timed out waiting for upgrade completion."


    CAUSE:

    Some process is using a file under the Agent's exe and is not detected when testing for active processes. This might be an Agent utility or a CM.


    SOLUTION:

    A reboot of the Control-M Agent Windows System is needed to free up the files in the Control-M/Agent  <AG_HOME>/exe directory.
