    PROBLEM:

    During RECOVER FORWARD or RESTORE using Recovery Utility for VSAM (RUV), the following error is found

    SHCDS FRSETRR(VSAM.CLUSTER.NAME) 
    IDC31880I RECOVERY NOT SET FOR VSAM.CLUSTER.NAME 
    IDC31968I RECOVERY REQUIRED FLAG NOT SET. 
    IDC31959I ERROR DATA: 
    X'000000100000000860200032000000040000000000000000 
    000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000' 

     


    CAUSE:

    The diagnostic info indicates an issue with the SYSVSAM enqueue not being available.


    SOLUTION:

    Check for enqueues by issuing console command:  D GRS,RES=(SYSVSAM,dsname*)  please make sure you include the *.

    If everything is cleared up, retry the recovery job again.
