EUEM - How to enter the activation key for the Real User Analyzer?

    BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring (EUEM) - Software Edition version 11.0.00 with Fix Pack 1 (11.0.00.001) and later



    QUESTION:

    Starting with Fix Pack 1 (11.0.00.001), BMC Real End-User Experience Monitoring (EUEM) -Software Edition requires an activation key to use the Real User Analyzer.  What are the steps to enter the activation key provided by the BMC Password Generation team ?

    Follow the steps below to enter the activation key for the Real User Analyzer component using the Real End User Monitoring Software Edition Maintenance Tool or command line option.
     
    To update the activation key by using the Real End User Monitoring Software Edition Maintenance Tool in a GUI, perform the following steps:
     

      
       
    1. Log on to the system where the Real User Analyzer is deployed with the root user.

    2.  
    3. Navigate to the <Real User Analyzer installation directory>/common directory.

    4.  
    5. Run the EuemMaintenanceTool.sh utility and click the Configuration tab.

    6.  
    7. Enter the company name that matches the name that is in the activation key file you received from BMC Customer Support.

    8.  
    9. Click Browse and select the activation key file's location and then click Next.

      

     
    To update the activation key by using the Maintenance Tool in a command line (CLI), perform the following steps:
     

      
       
    1. Log on to the system where the Real User Analyzer is deployed with the root user.

    2.  
    3. Navigate to the <Real User Analyzer installation directory>/common directory.

    4.  
    5. Run the following command by entering the activation key file location and the company name that matches the name in the activation key file

      

     
    ./EuemMaintenanceTool.sh -silent -config -activation  -keyfile=<key file location> -company=<company name>
