    QUESTION:

When launching a Session browser query the following error message is displayed:

The limit of concurrent snapshots has been reached. No more snapshot can be created until someone logs out.

How can the system be configured to avoid this error situation?

    ANSWER:

A concurrent snapshot as mentioned in this error message refers to the Session Browser query made by an user logged into the Real User Analyzer. A snapshot is also known as a Session Browser workspace.

If there are 2 users logged in and making Session Browser queries then 2 workspaces are in use. The number of workspaces currently used can be seen by navigating to the Administration > General settings > Session browser workspace management page. On that page a workspace associated with an inactive user can be terminated.

The number of concurrent snapshots is limited by the amount of memory allocated to the Real User Analyzer during installation based on the following mapping:

    • 4 GB of RAM or less ==> 2 concurrent snapshots
    •
    • 8 GB of RAM or more ==> 4 concurrent snapshots
To change the limit from 2 to 4 the Real User Analyzer must be re-installed on a system with at least 8 GB of RAM available.

The product has not been tested with more than 4 concurrent snapshots. Changing this to a higher number may result in unexpected crashes and is not a supported configuration.
