How do I upgrade RSSO Tomcat to a newer version?

    PROBLEM:

    Security vulnerabilities can sometimes be found within Tomcat and require an immediate fix. 
    How do we upgrade the Tomcat that the RSSO server runs on in order to meet our security requirements?


    CAUSE:

    Discovered security vulnerabilities in third-party product (Tomcat)


    SOLUTION:

    The terminology used for upgrading Tomcat from the Apache Tomcat website is known as migrating Tomcat from one version to another and the following URL contains some migration guides to assist with the migration process:  http://tomcat.apache.org/migration.html

    BMC Communities also has a blog post that gives details on how to migrate RSSO's Tomcat to another Tomcat along with which files need to be copied over from the RSSO Tomcat server being migrated.  Here are the details:
