    QUESTION:

How can other users view a dashboard?

    ANSWER:

There are two methods to allow other users to view a dashboard.

The first method allows any user to view a dashboard. These users do not need to have an user account on the Real User Analyzer the dashboard comes from.

A user can share a view of the dashboard by using the sharing function as described below.

    To share a dashboard

    1. In the Real User Analyzer, open the Dashboards page.

    2.
    3. Click on the dashboard to share.
    4.
    5. On the action menu beside the dashboard title, click Share.
    6.
    7. Specify the parameters of sharing:

      • Allow drilldown – enables drilldown from the shared dashboard
      •
      • Show logs – enables you to view logs for the shared dashboard
      •
      • Use HTTPS – secures sharing via the HTTPS protocol
      •
    8.
    9. To share the URL, copy it or embed it in the target application.

    4.
    5. Specify the parameters of sharing:

      • Allow drilldown – enables drilldown from the shared dashlet
      •
      • Show logs – enables you to view logs for the shared dashlet
      •
      • Use HTTPS – secures sharing via the HTTPS protocol
      •
    6.
    7. Copy the URL that appears in the window and share it with the interested persons (or embed it in the target application).

The second method allows any users with a user account on the Real User Analyzer the dashboard comes from to get a copy of the dashboard definition. The person who wants to share the dashboard will need to export the dashboard and the other users will need to import the dashboard into their collection.

Use the following step to give a copy of the dashboard to another user.

    To download (export) dashboard configuration

    1. On the Action menu of the Dashboard page, click Download dashboards.
By default, all dashboards are selected.
    2.
    3. Select check boxes for dashboard(s) to download.
    4.
    5. Click Download.
    6.
    7. Follow the browser instructions to save the configuration file.

    To upload (import) dashboard configuration

    1. On the Action menu of the Dashboard page, click Upload dashboards.
    2.
    3. Locate the downloaded configuration file by using one of the following methods:

      • In the Upload box, enter the name of the configuration file.
      •
      • Click Browse, select the configuration file, and click OK.
      •
    4.
    5. Specify the method of upload:

    • To delete and replace all existing dashboards, click Overwrite.
    •
    • To add the unique dashboards to your existing collection, click Merge.
    •
    • Click Upload.
