    PRODUCT:

    TrueSight App Visibility Agent

    APPLIES TO:

App Visibility Agent for Java versions 10.0.00 to 11.0.00 App Visibility Agent for .NET versions 10.0.00 to 11.0.00

    QUESTION:

The following link is to the document that explains the agent disconnect (or down):

    https://docs.bmc.com/docs/display/tsavm107/Sending+App+Visibility+health+events+to+integrated+systems

However, it does not mention the App Visibility Agent for Java and App Visibility Agent for .NET.  Does the App Visibility Agent for Java and App Visibility Agent for .NET have the same functionality?

    ANSWER:

There are health events generated when the App Visibility Agent for Java and App Visibility Agent for .NET are disconnected from the App Visibility Portal.  However, these health events are not enabled out-of-the-box.  To generate these health events for the App Visibility Agent for Java and App Visibility Agent for .NET, perform the following steps:

Step 1) On the App Visibility Portal server, edit the portal.properties file

Step 2) Update the minimal.health.event.severity property to MINOR

Step 3) Save the portal.properties file

Step 4) Stop and restart the App Visibility Portal

These health events will now be generated in the file called health-event.csv file on the App Visibility Portal console.  They are not generated or displayed anywhere else in TrueSight.
