Business Services View shows no data - How to troubleshoot

    QUESTION:

    In TSCO Console, I installed the Business Services View.  I then configured it following the documentation. 
    For example, I created an ETL based on Generic - Object Relationship CSV Parser and I created relationships in my Domain between the Business Service and the service pools.

    When I look at my Business Services View in TSPS Console, there is no data.


    ANSWER:

    There are several pre-requites and best practices in order for the view to properly appear and populate.

    Here specifically, the Tags on the Business Services are mandatory.  With out tags on the Business Services, the view will be empty. The way it works is that the tag can have a category named "Importance", the tag might be have a value like "high", "medium" or "low".

    These are other steps to check to make sure the View and elements are in compliance with the requirements:

    (3) Make sure these indicators are populated on the systems under the business service

      
       
    • IND_DAYS_TO_SATURATION
    •  
    • IND_USAGE_SCORE
    •  
    • IND_RISK_SCORE
       These indicators above also have subresources populated, it is important to check if those subresources have values.  


    (4) Settings on Business Services view

    When you select the domain Service creation, when you select the domain, be sure to select the father domain of the Business Services you want to analyze. The domain selected here cannot be a Business Service 

    The tags should be manually added (drag and drop) to the section on the right, this allows information to be displayed appropriately. Make sure the category matches with the tag configured on the Business Service to add it to the proper section.

    (5) No data displayed on View

      
    Trigger an automatic execution of Hierarchy rules 127 & 128 by hitting the "refresh views" button in the View settings. The data may take several minutes to show up and at the end the bubble charts will be populated with the data related to indicators that were computed by the AFS in TSCO. If this does not help then check the hierarchy rules and AFS logs for updates and errors
