    QUESTION:

    How to make a hidden event slot visible in a Selector Policy of the TrueSight Infrastructure Administration Console

    ANSWER:

    On the Cell(s) that the Event Policy is to be applied, do the following
    Using the mc_history slot, which is a hidden slot, as an example:

    Modify $MCELL_HOME/etc/<cellName>/kb/classes/mc_root_redef.baroc

      MC_EV_CLASS :
       EVENT
       DEFINES {
          source : STRING;
          sub_source : STRING;
          hostname : STRING;
          origin : STRING;
          sub_origin : STRING;
          server_handle : INTEGER, parse = no;
          acl : LIST_OF STRING, default = [admin], parse = no;
          credibility : INTEGER, default = 1, parse = no;
          msg_catalog : STRING;
          msg_index : INTEGER;
          num_actions : INTEGER, parse = no;
          site: STRING;
          mc_it_mgmt_process : STRING;
             mc_history : LIST_OF STRING, hidden = no;
       };
    END
    Save the file

    Add  mc_root_redef to $MCELL_HOME/etc/<cellName>/kb/classes/.load near the top
      # File name: .load
    # Version: 11.3.01
    # Copyright 1998-2018 BMC Software, Inc. All Rights Reserved
    #
    bem_match_table
    im_policies
      mc_root_redef
    mc_tm_root
    Recompile the cell
    mccomp -n <cellName>

      Restart the TSIM

      pw system stop | start

    The History slot will be in the pull down for the selector now.
