    APPLIES TO:

    AR Server 19.02

    PROBLEM:

After upgrading from ARS 18.08 to 19.02 on a Windows Server with SQL Server, Flashboards service no longer run, but it was running fine prior to upgrade.

The Flashboard log files show the following error:

    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/remedy/arsys/fbserver/flash/server/Server
    Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.remedy.arsys.fbserver.flash.server.Server

    at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)
    at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)

    SOLUTION:

After the upgrade, for some reason the .jar files from /ARSystem/flashboards were not updated. A new set of .jar files are needed to fix the issue. These can be taken from an out of the box system provided by BMC support if you don´t have other environment to get all the necessary .jar files.
