MainView SRM Allocation
MainView SRM 7.9 and 7.8 - All products under the MainView SRM umbrella
What caused the MainView SRM started task (SVOS) to receive the following abend:
04.15.18 STC01234 IEA794I SVC DUMP HAS CAPTURED: 735
735 DUMPID=003 REQUESTED BY JOB (MVSRM )
735 DUMP TITLE=COMPON=VSM-STORAGE,COMPID=SC1CH,ISSUER=IGVRSTOR
The abend occurred after an F SVOS,SHUTDOWN command was issued to shutdown MainView SRM.
***The customer determined that after the SVOS shutdown command was given, the technicians canceled the task because it was not coming down fast enough, which caused the abend.***
INFORMATION FOUND IN DUMP:
IBM purgeQ modules are issuing SVC D (abend) as SVOS has almost completed a planned shutdown.
IBM rtn died with 47B during SHUTDOWN of SVOS.
AB/S047B found in dump:
Explanation: An error occurred during PURGEDQ processing. The SDWACRC field of the system diagnostic work area (SDWA) contains a hexadecimal reason code that explains the error.
During processing of a PURGEDQ macro for the current primary address space, the system found a preemptable SRB meeting the purge parameters. The system abended the SRB routine to ensure that all SRB routines
affected by PURGEDQ had run to completion.
System action: The system abnormally ends the SRB routine.
