    BMC Helix Remedyforce How to Set the environment Variables for Java when Pentaho Spoon.bat will not Launch
     


    ANSWER:

    Steps:

       
    1. Go to the Windows File Explorer
    2.  
    3. Under the This PC do right click and got to properties
    4.  
    5. Click on Advance system settings
    6.  
    7. Click on Environment Variable
    8.  
    9. Click New     
           
      • Variable name: PENTAHO_JAVA_HOME
      •    
      • Variable value:  (Enter the path of the java folder location) -> C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_151
      •   
    10.  
    11. Click Ok
    12.  
    13. Add another variable
    14.  
    15. Click on Advance system settings
    16.  
    17. Click on Environment Variable
    18.  
    19. Click New     
           
      • Variable name: PENTAHO_DI _JAVA_OPTIONS
      •    
      • Variable value:  -Xms1024m
      •   
    20.  
    21. Click Ok
    22.  
    23. Click Ok
    24.  
    25. Verify that you can open the spoon.bat file without issue.
