This calendar applies to BMC Helix Discovery, it describes the dates when significant enhancements or new capabilities will be launched, as well as defining our content update strategy and bug-fix schedule.
BMC strives to ensure that updates to BMC Helix Discovery incur minimal downtime for our customers, and in most cases no downtime at all. The majority of customers prioritize weekends as the most critical time to be performing scans of their IT environment. Consequently, and unlike other BMC SaaS services, updates to the Helix Discovery service are scheduled outside of that key weekend scan window. Planned updates to Helix Discovery, when they occur, will always take place during a fixed time slot (UTC): Wednesday 10:00-11:00 UTC
Non-production first, then production
Changes are applied to non-production instances one week prior to production instances. The only exception to this will be when critical security related changes, or changes required to prevent future downtime are required. In such cases all instances are updated in unison.
Significant enhancement calendar
When BMC launches significant enhancements, new features and other major changes to Helix Discovery, it does so according to the following calendar. This is coordinated with other Helix Services (documented here).

TKU update schedule
BMC publish monthly TKU updates for both Helix Discovery and BMC Discovery customers. Each month's TKU is applied in the following manner:
- Non-production instances - First Wednesday of every month
- Production instances - Second Wednesday of every month
Changes present in each TKU are documented on Configipedia.
Bug-fixes and minor improvements
On a weekly basis BMC may apply bug-fixes and/or minor enhancements to Helix Discovery. As with other updates, non-production instances are updated first and production instances one week later.
