App Visibility - What are the App Visibility health events and their settings?

    QUESTION:

    What are the App Visibility health events and their settings?

    While it is documented that you can change the minimal severity to alert by changing the value of the minimal.health.event.severity (MINOR,WARNING,MAJOR and CRITICAL), what are the values that cause this to alarm?  Are those configurable?

     


    ANSWER:

     

    App Visibility Manager triggers events when the status, or health, changes for one or more App Visibility components: portal, collector, proxy, agents, and Synthetic TEA Agents.  By default, App Visibility sends health events that have a severity of Major or Critical to integrated systems, such as TrueSight Information Management. You can adjust the severity at which to send health events.

    The settings for the App Visibility health events are located in the portal.properties files in the /portal/properties directory on the App Visibility Portal server.  See the following for the steps to adjust the severity of these App Visibility health events:
