    CAUSE:

    RSCD ACL issue

    SOLUTION:

Although run locally on the BDSSA Server, the BDSSA Licensing Hotfix uses nexec to stop and start cognos i.e.

                nexec $(hostname) cmd /c "$_tpath\\stop_reports_64.bat"

Therefore, the user who run is logged into the Windows Server to run the hotfix installer must be mapped to an Admin user via the local agent ACL files

    To troubleshoot:

    1) Open a cmd window on the BDSSA Server and launch nsh
    2) From the nsh prompt type: agentinfo <BDSSA_Server>
    3) Make sure the output looks as below:

    BDSServer1% agentinfo BDSServer1
    BDSServer1:
      Agent Release   : 8.9.00.136
      Hostname        : BDSServer1
      Operating System: WindowsNT 6.3 (x86_64)
      User Permissions: BladeLogicRSCD@BDSServer1->Administrator@BDSServer1:
    PrivilegeMapped (Identity via trust)
      Security        : Protocol=5, Encryption=TLS1
      Host ID         : 4A9034C8
      # of Processors : 1
License Status  : Licensed for NSH/CM

If "No authorization to access host" error is received or if the mapping highlighted in yellow above is to Anonymous and not Administrator (or some Administrator equivalent) then work to resolve this in the c:\windows\rsc\exports and/or c:\windows\rsc\users.local files
Add * rw,user=Administrator (or whatever Admin user) and comment all other entries
Once the agentinfo output is as expected, rerun the BDSSA Licensing Hotfix installer and confirm it runs to completion without errors.
