    PROBLEM:

    When deploying ITSM 1808 d2p package, its getting rollback with error "Process BMC:NormalizationEngine of type BMC:JavaPluginServer failed to start in 30 seconds".

    arfiledeployer.log points to below error before starting rollback:


    ERROR com.bmc.arsys.filedeployer.PayloadProcessor  - Process BMC:NormalizationEngine failed to start.
    Error while deploying payload with DEPLOYMENT ID IDGAA5V0G7H6CAP4F659P3INXZP4DZ : Errors while starting processes and verifying deployment. [Errors in starting processes and verifying deployment. [Process BMC:NormalizationEngine of type BMC:JavaPluginServer failed to start in 30 seconds]]
    INFO  com.bmc.arsys.filedeployer.PayloadProcessor  - Update the status of the payload as DEPLOYMENT FAILED
    INFO  com.bmc.arsys.filedeployer.PayloadProcessor  - Update the status of the payload as PENDING ROLLBACK

    ERROR com.bmc.arsys.filedeployer.PayloadProcessor  - Process BMC:NormalizationEngine failed to start.
    WARN  com.bmc.arsys.filedeployer.PayloadProcessor  - Failed to start processes during rollback
    java.lang.Exception: Errors while starting processes and verifying deployment. [Errors in starting processes and verifying deployment. [Process BMC:NormalizationEngine of type BMC:JavaPluginServer failed to start in 30 seconds]


    CAUSE:

    NE Plugin Process


    SOLUTION:

    User is not using Normalization Engine, Performed below steps:

       
    • In armonitor.cfg, comment out NE Plugin process.     
           
      • E.g."JAVA_HOME" -Xmx768m -classpath "~~\BMC Software\AtriumCore\cmdb\plugins\ne;~~\BMC Software\AtriumCore\cmdb\plugins;~~\BMC Software\AtriumCore\cmdb\sdk\bin\arpluginsvr91_build004.jar;~~\BMC Software\AtriumCore\cmdb\sdk\bin\arapi91_build004.jar;~~\BMC Software\AtriumCore\cmdb\sdk\bin\arutil91_build004.jar;~~\BMC Software\AtriumCore\cmdb\sdk\bin\log4j-1.2.14.jar;~~\BMC Software\AtriumCore\cmdb\sdk\bin\cmdbapi91.jar;" com.bmc.arsys.pluginsvr.ARPluginServerMain -x <server-name> -i "~~\BMC Software\ARSystem"
      •   
    •  
    • Restart AR Server Services.
    •  
    • Confirm NE plugin is not running on the environment.
    •  
    • After performing clean-up steps for existing failed package, user will be able to Import & Deploy the package successfully.
