    QUESTION:

Can I adjust the CPU usage of the Event Collector?

    ANSWER:

The CPU usage of the Event Collector can be adjusted. The default setting for the Event Collector is CPU=DEP but if this option results in too much CPU usage you can change the option. To change the option you can update IMFECP00 in the BBPARM member. Here you can change the to the following:

CPU=ALL  - Highest CPU, collects all CPU time DATA
CPU=DEP - Collects CPU time data from dependent regions.
CPU=DEPPGM - Collects CPU time data from dependent region activities, including DB2 CPU, and times the transaction as a single event. This option dramatically drops overhead.
CPU=DEPDB2 - Collects the same data as DEPPGM but DB2 events are reported separately from dependent  region CPU time. CPU usage depends on the number of SQL calls issued by the transactions.
CPU=NONE - CPU time data is not collected.
