    APPLIES TO:

It is applicable from Patrolagent version 9.5.

    PROBLEM:

What is the purpose of data.cache, event.cache, stat.cache under stream folder?

    CAUSE:

the purpose of data.cache, event.cache, stat.cache under stream folder

    SOLUTION:

We support the live streaming of data in BMC Proactivenet Performance Management/Truesight Infrastructure Management. PaATROL Agent collects the data and events and sends them to Integration Service>>BPPM/TSIM server.

If the PATROL Agent gets disconnected from ISN, the data and events are stored in data.cache, events.cache and stats.cache files in given location. Once the PATROL Agent gets connected to ISN again, the buffered data and events are sent to ISN.

These files are used for caching the data on Patrol agent for steaming.

Normally event.cache is for event cache, data.cache file has the caching related to instances information (e.g. NT_CACHE, NT_CPU etc) and stats.cache has caching related to statistical data.
