    PRODUCT:

    BMC Atrium Orchestrator Platform

    COMPONENT:

    BMC Atrium Orchestrator Platform

    APPLIES TO:

BMC Atrium Orchestration Platform 8.x.xx TrueSight Orchestration Platform 8.x.xx

    PROBLEM:

I cannot log into the BMC Atrium Orchestration / TrueSight Orchestration Dashboard. I have a valid account and I am using the correct password. When I check the dashboard.log file for more information, I see this error:

01 Jan 2019 01:01:01,001 [Thread=http-nio-8449-exec-8] INFO bmc.ao.security.LoginController : Login started for User with Name: myuser
01 Jan 2019 01:01:02,001 [Thread=http-nio-8449-exec-8] INFO bmc.ao.security.CustomAuthenticationProvider : Attempting to authenticate for user myuser for host myTSOServer
01 Jan 2019 01:01:03,001 [Thread=http-nio-8449-exec-8] ERROR bmc.ao.impl.JmxConnection : Cannot create mbean server connection Failed to retrieve RMIServer stub: javax.naming.ServiceUnavailableException [Root exception is java.rmi.ConnectException: Connection refused to host: myTSOServer; nested exception is:
java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out (Connection timed out)]

    CAUSE:

The Dashboard connects to a Configuration Distribution Peer (CDP) via the JMX port 1089. If port 1089 is blocked, the Dashboard cannot connect to the CDP to authenticate users or retrieve data.

    SOLUTION:

Edit your firewall settings to open port 1089 on the server hosting your CDP. For specific steps, contact your network administrator.
