    How To reset STAFF and Groups permissions in Track-It! 2018?


    ANSWER:

     

       
       IMPORTANT NOTE:     This utility is designed to assist in restoring users permissions in Track-It! databases in a SQL Server environment.  It has not undergone formal QA testing and is therefore not an officially supported utility.  BMC Software does not take responsibility for any issues that may arise.  You are using this utility at your own risk.  
      
    If you agree to this please go ahead and use the product   
    If you do NOT agree do not use this utility and return it to BMC Track-It! Technical Support   
        
        
    RESETSTAFFPERMS was designed as a replacement for all versions of RESET_PERMS.   
        
    1.  Login to SQL Server Management Studio as a System Administrator account ie SA.   
    2.  Choose the Track-It! database from the database drop-down.   
    3.  Paste the attached RESETSTAFFPERMS.sql script into the New Query Pane.   
    4.  Click Run or Press F5.   
        
    At this point the stored procedure RESETSTAFFPERMS is created in the Track-It! database.   
    You must now execute the execute the stored procedure to perform the reset of the staff permissions.   
        
    The stored procedure accepts 3 parameters.  Support Staff ID, Group ID, or Base Table Name   
    None of these parameters are required and any of the three can be populated.   
        
    Below is an example of each of the scenarios you can use to execute RESETSTAFFPERMS. "John Dee" is the technician ID   
       
       
        Reset Permissions for All Staff Members for All Groups for All Tables.   
    RESETSTAFFPERMS   
       
       
        Reset Permissions for a Specific Staff Member for All Groups for All Tables.   
    RESETSTAFFPERMS 'John Dee'   
       
       
        Reset Permissions for a Specific Staff Member in a Specific Group for All Tables.   
    RESETSTAFFPERMS 'John Dee', 'EXTERNAL_SUPPORT'   
       
       
        Reset Permissions for a Specific Staff Member in a Specific Group for a Specific Table.   
    RESETSTAFFPERMS 'John Dee', 'EXTERNAL_SUPPORT', '_TELMASTE_'   
       
       
        Reset Permissions for All Staff Members in a Specific Group for a Specific Table.   
    RESETSTAFFPERMS null, 'EXTERNAL_SUPPORT', '_TELMASTE_'   
       
       
        Reset Permissions for All Staff Members for All Groups for a Specific Table.   
    RESETSTAFFPERMS null, null, '_TELMASTE_'
