Remedy - Server - Upgrade Failed from 18.05 to 18.08

    QUESTION:

    While checking the logs  we can see a problem where remedy service is unable to start during upgrade.
    Installation failed and has installer rolled back changes


    ANSWER:

    Attempted to restart service on 18.05 environment which was successful
    Clear bundle cache, restart also successful.

    Further checking in ar.conf file for DB and SQL credentials  found conflicting parameters as detailed below:

    SQL-Secure-Connection: T
    SQL-Secure-Connection: F

    Steps to follow

      1. Comment out one of above parameter which you are not using.  
    2. Disable Register with port mapper as you are not using the same. 
      
      Register-With-Portmapper: T  
    To  
    Register-With-Portmapper: F 
      
      3. Clear bundle cache directory before installation.
