How to create and manage navigation panes for various user groups in TMTM?

    ANSWER:

Under TMTM, the admin users can create navigation tabs and can associate various TMTM user groups according to their view permissions to these navigation panes.

    1. First of all, enter Edit mode.

    4.
Select the groups you’d want to see the tab with. Drag the group(s) you want onto new tab name. Then click Apply and OK to bring the changes under effect.

    5. Now Right click on the new tab again, and go to Edit Navigation Tabs > Edit Tabs

    8. After this select the monitored objects/hosts from the left pane as per your requirement, and drag them to the Tree you created in the previous step. You’ll see an option to ‘Clone’, click on that.

    9. Now, you’d be able to traverse your tree by drilling down the root element

    10. Now click on Apply and Ok to confirm.
You can also add another entry say a network host by creating a child branch under the root of the tree you created in the above steps.

    11. And this way you should be able to see all the monitored objects on that network host. Click Apply and OK.

    12. This is how your navigation tab would look like after you select all the objects you would like on a navigation pane.

    13. Once this is done, you can then disable the access to the default navigation pane through Security tab.
If you have groups created, then select the group and toggle the ‘Access Default Navigation Tab’ setting.

NOTE: User tabs are only for each user's individual view. Group tabs are available to all members of the Group.
