BSA: Unable to connect to agent - Failed to read or create agent X.509 certificate

    PROBLEM:

    While trying to connect to an agent via Live Browse, a Job or NSH you notice the below message in the rscd.log on the target system:
     

    09/07/17 03:48:10.141 ERROR rscd - XXXXXXXXXX SYSTEM (Not_available): (Not_available): Failed to read or create agent X.509 certificate:     Failed to read X509 certificate from 3aced0.\crypto\pem\pem_lib.c:701 error:0906D06C:PEM routines:PEM_read_bio:no start line.\crypto\pem\pem_lib.c:701 error:0906D06C:PEM routines:PEM_read_bio:no start line

     


    SOLUTION:

    In order to fix this issue perform the below steps:

       
    • Stop the RSCD service on the affected system
    •  
    • Delete the C:\Windows\rsc\certificate.pem (Windows) or /etc/rsc/certificate.pem (Unix)
    •  
    • Start the RSCD service, the certificate.pem will be re-created
    •  
    • Retry the connection to the affected system
