BMC Discovery 11.1
Discovery fails to scan Target IP with Reason: "IPs dropped Previous scan of these IPs is still processing"
Before implementing the suggestion below, please verify and ensure that there are no Active Discovery Scans pertaining to the IP Addresses in question.
If there are incomplete (active scans) still being performed pertaining to the IP Address in question, then the stipulated reason is correct in dropping those IPs in the subsequent discovery scan.
Once you have verified that there are no Active Scans for the IP in question, you can go ahead and stop and restart the services on the affected Appliance as follows:
sudo /sbin/service tideway stop
sudo /sbin/service cluster stop
sudo /sbin/service omniNames stop
sudo /sbin/service appliance stop
sudo /sbin/service appliance start
sudo /sbin/service omniNames start
sudo /sbin/service cluster start
sudo /sbin/service tideway start
You should now be able to Scan the IP Address in question.
