Smart Reporting Performance Issue When Launching Through Application Landing Console

    PROBLEM:

    1.Login with Smart Reporting user on Application console.
    2. Launch the Smart Reporting  Choose link
         Smart Reporting -> Smart Reporting Console
    3. When launching the Smart Reporting console through landing console the user login response time is more than a minute.
     


    CAUSE:

    The performance problem is a known defect. It has to do with the default landing page. If the landing page is “timeline” – the query will be very expensive. The “browse” landing page is much faster.


    SOLUTION:

    APPLICATION CHANGES MADE TO RESOLVE
     
    The performance problem is a known defect that is already reported to Yellowfin.  It has to do with the default landing page.
    If the landing page is “timeline” – the query will be very expensive.
    The “browse” landing page is much faster.
     
    Changed the default “entry page” to browse
     
      UPDATE [px_smartrept_cluster2_db].[dbo].[Configuration]
      SET ConfigData ='BROWSE'
      WHERE ConfigCode = 'DEFAULTENTRYPAGE'
      AND IpOrg = 1
     
    Changed existing configured users to default to browse
     
      UPDATE [px_smartrept_cluster2_db].[dbo].[PersonConfiguration]
      SET ConfigData = 'BROWSE'
      WHERE ConfigCode ='ENTRYPAGE'
      AND ConfigData = 'TIMELINE'
