    PRODUCT:

    PATROL for Application Management

    COMPONENT:

    AM KM

    APPLIES TO:

PATROL for Application Management (AM KM) versions 10.0.00 to 10.7.00

    QUESTION:

The Synthetic, Application Visibility, and EUEM data are stored on the App Visibility Portal and App Visibility Collector(s).  In order to send the Synthetic, Application Visibility, and EUEM data from the App Visibility components to the TrueSight Infrastructure Management (TSIM) server is to use the AM KM.

So how does the PATROL for Application Management (AM KM) obtain the Synthetic, Application Visibility, and EUEM data?

    ANSWER:

The AM KM connects to the TrueSight Presentation Server (TSPS) server using the TSPS username/password and tenant to obtain the App Visibility Portal hostname and port information, and then the TSPS server sends back that information to the AM KM.  Once the AM KM has the information to connect to the App Visibility Portal, it uses the REST API call to obtain the Synthetic, Application Visibility, and EUEM data directly from the App Visibility Portal.  As a note, the App Visibility Portal connects to the App Visibility Collector(s) to obtain the Application Visibility and Synthetic data, and brings the data back to send to the AM KM.

Note: The AM KM should only be installed on one PATROL Agent within the TrueSight Operations Management (TSOM) environment.  Installing more than AM KM instances in the same environment will result in duplicate Synthetic, Application Visibility, and/or EUEM data in the TSIM server.
