    PRODUCT:

    RECOVERY MANAGER for DB2

    COMPONENT:

    RECOVERY MANAGER for DB2

    PROBLEM:

With PTF BQU1642 applied all customers must convert the ARM$OPTS optionset to POF mode.

The LGC mode will no longer be used and Recovery Manager will no longer require the use of the DBC.   Below are the steps to convert to POF Mode.

*Note:   Apply BQU1450 if you receive
ABEND=S0C4 in ARMUMAN while trying to migrate product options to a POF

    SOLUTION:

Invoke the Recovery Manage ARMISPF Clist.
    -  Select Option 5 Product Option Sets
    -  Panelid ARMST00A will present you with the Product Option Specification panel
    -  In the Action line select 0 and enter POF in the Set product option mode ____
    -  This will change the 2nd line above to Current product options mode is POF
    -  The next step is to convert the options from LGC option set to product option file
    -   Select Option 7
    -   Under LGC option set name enter ARM$OPTS (or the name you are using if different)
    -   In the next line, Product option file name enter ARM$OPTS (or the name you wish to use)

      7. Convert LGC option set to product option file
         LGC option set name  ARM$OPTS
         Product option file name  ARM$OPTS
           Replace existing member  Y  (Y or N)

This will take seconds to complete.  When done browse the ARM$OPTS member in the BMCCNTL library that is displayed at the top
of the panel.  For example, Product options data set is  RMD.PTFS1120.BMCCNTL.

That's it.  You can run the IVP job to confirm that the ARM$OPTS POF file is now being used.

The IVP will issue this message if Recovery Manager is using the ARMPOF instead of the LGC.

BMC80799I USING PRODUCT OPTION SET ARM$OPTS FROM DATA SET DB2QA.INST1210.BMCCNTL
