    QUESTION:

How to set up AI job connection to create custom job connecting from Client Gateway box?

    ANSWER:

This article describes how to set up Atrium Integrator job connections while designing and testing Spoon job (custom) in RaaS environments. BMC’s Professional Services or external consultant uses Client Gateway set up to establish connection to AR server using Spoon Client. Most of the case, job runs fine while testing it from the Spoon Client but ends up getting error when running it from Atrium Integrator Console. This is because AR server doesn’t recognize the connection set up used directly from the Spoon Client connected through Client Gateway box.
To remediate this issue, the best practice is to set up two connections and toggle it depending on the way the job is running from. One dedicated to Client Gateway and other with AR server.

    • 1. Client Gateway Set up connection: Client Gateway AR Con

NOTE: In User Name field, put a dedicated user login ID that will have the right access to the data that you are importing.

Once RaaS server team completed the Client Gateway set up, AR server port will be mapped against the following environments:
    e.g

    DEV: 46000
    QA: 47000
    PROD: 48000

    • 2. AR Server connections:
2.a.>   PDIREPO_platform-admin-0.platform-admin_46262  (for HELIX based env)
             Server Name =   platform-admin-0.platform-admin

NOTE: In User Name field, put a dedicated user login ID that will have the right access to the data that you are importing.

2.b.>   onbmc-s  (for VM based env)

NOTE: In User Name field, put a dedicated user login ID that will have the right access to the data that you are importing.

Use   Client Gateway AR Con when you are designing or testing job using Spoon Client connected from gateway box.
Once the job designing and testing is completed in Spoon Client, use  PDIREPO_platform-admin-0.platform-admin_46262 (Helix setup) or,   onbmc-s (VM setup) connection to run it on server (  Atrium Integration Console). The benefit of using these  connections is that when the job is migrated from one environment to next environment, we need not change the AR connection setting to reflect the server name of the next environment.

Considerations : Hard coded AR connection is only needed when custom job is intended to run from Atrium Integrator Console. Do not change out of the box AR Server connection setting as this connection uses variables whose values will be pass on by workflows during the runtime of UDM job. Changing out of the box AR Server connection may impact the UDM job
