JVisiualVM connection error

    PRODUCT:

    Remedy AR System Server



    PROBLEM:

    Trying to connect to Remote  server where JVisualVm is installed. 
    After adding the host under remote,  when adding Jmx Connection we see the error:

    Cannot Connect to <Hostname>:8086 using service:jmx:rmi:///<Hostname>:8086/jmxrmi 

    The necessary parameters have been added to  to Midtier Tomcat under Java Options 

    -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote 
    -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.port=8086 
    -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.ssl=false 
    -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.authenticate=false 


    CAUSE:

    Possible security or firewall restriction


    SOLUTION:

    Add the following parameter 
    -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.rmi.port=<PORT-Number>

    If there are security/Firewalll constraints set both the jmx port and RMI port as same .
