Remedyforce Error warning: The schedule job for discovery functionality is not running. Click here to schedule the job again.
When the Remedyforce Discovery Server is created for you, a scheduled job (BMC Helix Remedyforce Service Desk - BCM Processor (date time)) runs in your Salesforce organization to keep your server alive. Ensure that you do not delete this job.
This error is not related to only Schedule scan job for Discovery. It is the indication for other schedule job as well in Remedyforce.
This schedule job runs 3 different tasks all related to discovery functionality.
1. Keep pinging the discovery server once in a day at a predefined time to ensure the Discovery server and Salesforce org are still connected. This is done by system in the background. If the ping request is not sent continuously for a predefined days (at present it is 10 days), the Discovery server will decommission the discovery instance. For this purpose the scheduled job needs to be always running. And in case if this is stopped the message as per the screen shot is shown so that the administrator can start the job.
2. Import of discovered data to Remedyfoorce CMDB.
3. Updating task status, for the task created to execute Operation rules on devices.
