Remedy - Server - Timeout while upgrading server from 9.0.01 to 9.1.04 on SSI

    PROBLEM:

    Upgrade AR Server from 9.0.01 to 9.1.04, Upgrade does not complete fails with timeout errors

    THROWABLE EVENT {Description=[Error from RIKJ command ],Detail=[ERROR (92): Timeout during database update -- the operation has been accepted by the server and will usually complete successfully; rempld09.aaa.aaa.it:9000 ONC/RPC call timed out]},

    Found issue with : SET_SERVER_INFO  getting timed out,

    CAUSE:

    There was a whole lot of accumulation of temp tables in the database. Possibly, that was leading to the SQL statements getting stuck at the database, thereby causing server hang, and upgrade failed due to timeout. Customer has deleted all the temp tables


    SOLUTION:

    There are several tables created by installer, with "AR" prefix. Those tables are created by FTS and other vendor form searches to store intermediate results. Those are supposed to be deleted by the server once done with. Probably due to some defect, they were not deleted. SW00510724
     

    Solution Removed all ARADMIN temporary tables. (Tables were 82,500 and script took about 2 hours to remove all.)

      

     Take a help from DBA to identify this temporary tables created for ARAdmin user.

      

    After this operation on database, upgrade was successfully in about 1 hour without any errors
