    PRODUCT:

    BMC Atrium Core - CMDB

    COMPONENT:

    BMC Atrium Core

    APPLIES TO:

    SERVICECONTEXT ARERR 8755

    PROBLEM:

    Error just before loading the ITSM home page "Specified Plugin does not exist (ARERR8755)" error displayed on IT Home page" and it would also not allow to integrate SRM with CMDB

    CAUSE:

    Error is due to the missing and improper configuration of SERVICECONTEXT plugin

    SOLUTION:

    The SERVICECONTEXT plugin configuration is in the following files

    (a) AR Config file (ar.cfg if Windows or ar.conf if Linux under <installed location>\ARSystem\conf)
    (b) ARMonitor file (armonitor.cfg if Windows or armonitor.conf if Linux under <installed location>\ARSystem\conf)
    (c) Atrium Shared plugin's Plugin Server config file - (pluginsvr_config.xml under <installed location>\AtriumCore\cmdb\plugins\shared)

    Details of the plugin configuration as follows:

    (a) AR Config file

    Server-Plugin-Alias: BMC.ARDBC.ATRIUM.SERVICECONTEXT BMC.ARDBC.ATRIUM.SERVICECONTEXT <servername>:9556

    (b) AR Monitor file

    "C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\java" -Xmx512m -classpath "E:\Program Files\BMC Software\AtriumCore\cmdb\plugins\shared; ********-i "E:\Program Files\BMC Software\ARSystem"

    (c) Atrium shared plugin server config file

    The Atrium shared pluginsvr_config.xml is located in the <installedlocation>\AtriumCore\cmdb\plugins\shared' directory. There should be entries for this plugin like the following example:

    <plugin>
                    <name>BMC.ARDBC.ATRIUM.SERVICECONTEXT</name>
                    <classname>com.bmc.atrium.federation.srvcctx.ServiceContextMain</classname>
                     <filename>(installed location)\AtriumCore\cmdb\plugins/federation/federation-service_context.jar</filename>
                     <pathelement type="path">(installed location)\AtriumCore\cmdb\plugins/federation/federation-common.jar</pathelement>
                     <pathelement type="path">(installed location)\AtriumCore\cmdb\plugins/federation/lib/ehcache-core-2.2.0.jar</pathelement>
                     <pathelement type="path">(installed location)\AtriumCore\cmdb\plugins/slf4j-api-1.5.11.jar</pathelement>
                     <pathelement type="path">(installed location)\AtriumCore\cmdb\plugins/slf4j-jdk14-1.5.11.jar</pathelement>
                      <pathelement type="path">(installed location)\AtriumCore\cmdb\plugins/WSRegistryAPI91.jar</pathelement>
                      <pathelement type="path">(installed location)\AtriumCore\cmdb\plugins/axis2-1.5.1-merged-client-set.jar</pathelement>
                      <userDefined>
                                      <ServiceContext_level>Info</ServiceContext_level>
                                      <ServiceContext_MaxBackupIndex>10</ServiceContext_MaxBackupIndex>
                                       <ServiceContext_File>(installed location)\AtriumCore/Logs/ServiceContext.log</ServiceContext_File>
                                       <ServiceContext_ConversionPattern>%d %-5p [%t] %C (%F:%L) - %m%n</ServiceContext_ConversionPattern>
                                       <ServiceContext_MaxFileSize>5MB</ServiceContext_MaxFileSize>
                     </userDefined>
    </plugin>

    A restart of AR server service is needed after making the above changes.
