How to create / add custom resource monitor alert rule for TSCOs Self-File-system without impacting the existing OOTB "Self-monitoring - Alert rule"?

    QUESTION:

    I have added a file system (e.g. /boot, /mnt, etc..) to the Local monitoring configuration on the Local monitoring system task and I always see an alert under the Resource Monitor. Please advice on how to configure TSCO in order to set a separate threshold for this file system


    ANSWER:

    How to create / add custom resource monitor alert rule for TSCOs Self-File-system without impacting the existing OOTB "Self-monitoring - Alert rule"? 

    - - The alerting of the file systems is under an alert rule called "Self-monitoring - Alert rule"

    - - Follow below steps…
    1. Edit   "Self-monitoring - Alert rule" rule

    2. From "General" Tab Un-check the “File System usage” condition and Save the changes.

    3.  Add new rule….

    4. Configure the “General” Tab, below is an example….

    5. From “Filter” Tab add / select Self-Monitoring system for monitoring…

    6. Add and configure the “custom resource monitor rule” condition as shown in below snapshot… Here we have added the condition with name “Test”,
    In below example we have added the custom rule condition for BYFS_USED_SPACE_PCT metrics.

    And, Save   the Rule.
