    PRODUCT:

    MyIT Service Broker

    COMPONENT:

    MyIT Service Broker

    PROBLEM:

How can we create a DWP Catalog start-up script ?

    SOLUTION:

To install the service, the system administrator must perform the following steps:

    1. Extract the zip files on to the BMC Digital Workplace Catalog server
    2.
    3. Move the file dwpcatalog.service to the /lib/systemd/system/ folder.
    4.
    5. Run chmod +x /lib/systemd/system/dwpcatalog.service
    6.
    7. Move the file dwpcatalog to the /etc/init.d folder.
    8.
    9. Edit the /etc/init.d/dwpcatalog folder to update with the credentials for the BMC Digital Workplace Catalog server administrator (dwpcatalog)
    10.
    11. To add the service to the list of known services, run: systemctl daemon-reload
With the service loaded into the systemctl, the administrator can control the service by running the systemctl command with the desired action parameter:
    systemctl (status|stop|start|reload)  dwpcatalog

To load the configuration to start up automatically when the server starts:

    1. Run chkconfig --add dwpcatalog
    2.
    3. Run chkconfig dwpcatalog on
Note: If an Oracle database engine is running on the same server, the administrator might need to add a dependency to ensure the database server can accept connections before starting the BMC Digital Workplace Catalog application.
