Move Footprints install location on the same server

    QUESTION:

    How do I move install locations without reinstalling?


    ANSWER:

    As this is not a support method - we would always recommend uninstall and reinstalling to move - 
    we cannot be held responsible if any changes cause issues to you system

    Always have a full backup of the server and database before attempting any changes.

    1. Stop the 3 footprints services  FPSchedule, FPWatch, FPTomcat
    2. Stop IIS Admin and World Wide Web Publishing service
    3. Copy c:\footprintsservicecore to new location - in this example c:\footprints11
    4. Open cmd prompt - Run as administrator
    5. Uninstall FPschedue and FPWatch services by following the procedure below - change path if needed

    c:
    cd \footprintsservicecore\bin
    FPSchedule -u
    FPWatch -u
    close window

    6. Rename c:\footprintsservicecore to c:\footprintsservicecoreold
    7. Change the folder location in the following files:

    c:\footprints11\cgi\MRlocaldefs
    c:\footprints11\etc\ABlist.txt
    c:\footprints11\etc\MRprojects
    c:\footprints11\etc\AttachmentsRoot
    c:\footprints11\etc\SecurityLogging.txt - if the file exists
    C:\FootPrints11\bin\Tomcat\conf\Catalina\localhost\ExecutiveDashboard.xml
    C:\FootPrints11\bin\Tomcat\conf\server.xml


    8. Start IIS Admin and World Wide Web Publishing service
    9.  Configure IIS site

    Open cmd prompt - run as Administrator   
    c:
    cd \
    cd Footprints11\cgi
    ..\bin\perl\bin\perl MRConfigIIS.pl
    1
    enter path - c:\footprints11
    Enable compression if required
    Enter
    Q

    10. Edit any escalations that use external actions and change path if needed
    11. Edit Reports / Auto Run reports that use file locations
    12. Configure Tomcat for new location

    Run Regedit - use with caution as incorrect changes can break your computer  - 

    Edit the key
    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Apache Software Foundation\Procrun 2.0\FPTomcatService\Parameters

    Change location in the java and log entries

    Repeat for the following if they exist:

    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\FPTomcatService

    13. Install FPwatch and FPSchedule services
    open cmd prompt - Run as administrator
    c:
    cd \footprints11\bin
    FPSchedule -i
    FPWatch -i
    close window

    Restart system
