    PRODUCT:

    BMC Atrium Orchestrator Platform

    COMPONENT:

    BMC Atrium Orchestrator Platform

    APPLIES TO:

    BMC Atrium Orchestrator Platform 7.9.01

    PROBLEM:

I followed the below steps to install a Configuration Distribution Peer (CDP) for BMC Atrium Orchestrator (BAO) 7.9.01 CDP. After installation, I can login to the Repository but I cannot login to the CDP. It fails with the error "User Name, Password does not match OR Check system administrator for server errors".

    I followed this procedure:

    • Installed External Remedy Single Sign-On with a database.
    •
    • Created a Realm (BAOLocal), User (aoadmin) and Role (AoAdmin).
    •
    • Used a non-default different password such as "bmcAdm1n" for the aoadmin user.
    •
    • Installed BAO Repository and CDP.
    •
    • Tried to log into both instances of BAO.

    CAUSE:

BAO stores information in the file deploy.xml before its first startup. This file uses the default "admin123" password for grid creation. If the password is different, the peer will fail to deploy the user grid, which prevents all logins.

    SOLUTION:

Do not change the password for AoAdmin before you install and start a CDP. As long as aoadmin has the default password the CDP will create its grid when it starts for the first time. After this you can change the password.

BMC has filed this as a defect with ID DRAUM-22104. This only occurs with an external Remedy Single Sign-On, and it is resolved in BAO 7.9.01.001 and BAO 8.0.
